[Closed] Why has my rump started hurting whilst on the bike?

Bit random but for some reason my butt has started hurting whilst riding - I've not had any problems in the past and am running Specialized BG saddles on both bikes. It happens when wearing both pairs of bib shorts so can only assume my sit bones have got wider as I've put a bit of weight on recently. Two days after my last ride and my rump is still sore to touch.

Has anyone else experienced this?

If you've already bruised your sit bone area try not riding for a few days or rubbing some arnica cream in the affected area for a couple of days. Only takes one hard awkward unexpected knock to set it off.

Yup, my butt must have morphed... Or it's all the pies I've been eating... I've been riding for years and don't understand why it's suddenly started hurting.

Your bones don't get wider regardless of how much weight you've put on.

Could be that the padding on the saddles has just got worn down.

Or maybe your legs are getting tired holding up your weight and you're just sitting down more.

Suffered a lot of soreness after the first ride of the year having not been on the bike in ages. Was still tender the next ride but fine after that.

Have you changed anything on the bike? Seat or bar height maybe?

Had a similar issue 2 weeks ago, riding sat/sun in the Lakes. I've lost weight recently, so that's out. I reckon my undershorts have had it, and because I was wearing the same brand next day, albeit a clean pair, the seams were in the same place, so exacerbated the problem.

Never had anything like that in 12 years of MTBing, strange.

Bought new bib shorts, flung old undercrackers out.

How old/many miles on your saddle?

My Spesh' Toupe saddle started to weaken after 2 years under my fat butt.

Last saddle has been fine after I lost the lard lol.

has the saddle moved back or forth on the rails? I've noticed mine move back occasionly if the bolts have come slightly loose and I have to reposition it.
