just tried to use a 10 speed mech with 9 sp shifters and found it didn't work .
whilst checking the mech over ( i know now they're not compatible) i noticed that the guide pully/jockey wheel was no longer a self centering type ( centeron ) which i always thought was a good idea. Anyone know why the change?

Interested in the answer to this. Back in the days of 8 speed, aftermarket jockey wheels didn't work well because they didn't float. Now, aftermarket jockey wheels seem to work better but still don't float.
