it's to punish those with the cash to be able to afford s****y 10 speed and also so they can lord it over the mere mortals with up to 9 speed 😉

...but 10 speed has been on road bikes for ages now and has pretty much been the standard on road bikes for the last few years
Oh, it's for the road bike - I'm still firmly in the 9 speed world off road
