It is nie on impossible to keep things a secret these days but you do learn though. I can remember saying somewhere on a forum that a local spot was dead good and then next thing people are running unofficial uplifts there, building trails and generally messing things up. Probably not my post that did it but it does make you think. It is so easy to share info these days.
There is another local spot that every time it is mentioned on here the trail police come on and try to hush everything up. Even that is a waste of time as I just went and searched on google and the garmin website and found all the "Secret" trails mapped anyway.
Then going to the Alps around Morzine we found loads of good legal trails but there is no way I would post them anywhere as they would be ruined pretty soon.
Anyway guess the location on these secret places. (Have I shot myself in the foot here?)
my 'secret trails' usually have a footpath signpost on them. I ride in the Chilterns mainly, I'd be surprised if any of the trails I ride aren't unknown to most locals anyway.
is it the woods behind nationwide in swindon?
Someone's started marking trees with white reflective tape on some of my local stuff!
I know what you mean, I have spent a while making my own trails (nothing special) around my area that I want to share with people but on the other hand I don't want anyone to **** them up with "improvements". I think it's sad we can't share this kind of essential information with our own community.
Where is this Swindon place you talk about. Swindon

I must go there. Thanks for the local info.
Somewhere in Norfolk?!?
Are - Sweden?
is it the woods behind nationwide in swindon?
It could very well be, Nutt; it could very well be...
Åre is too far away and there are no mountains where I live. I have built a trail but it is the hunting season at the moment so I don't want to annoy the hunters by announcing it on the local forum. Annoying to as it needs some more riders on it to smooth it out a bit.
I think Sweden is the one place where I would not mind announcing a trail as it is so sparsely populated and you can ride anywhere and people seem to respect nature a bit more.
I had to open my big mouth to Dafydd Davis about how good the riding was around Nant Yr Arian, next minute(3 years later) there's the Syfydrin & Summit trails and a full carpark every weekend, I don't even get a free carpark pass. Some lads I know from Machynlleth ring me up and ask if I could show them some good(legal) riding, cue Mach 1,2 and 3. I should be on commission. 😥
