Our warranty and road side assistance comes to an end soon.
I was with RAC sometime ago but they kept adding extras and the cost went up.
Is AA or Greenflag any better? Or are there any other companies that come to mind
Greenflag dealt with a misfuel without an extra charge, which I don't think is included in some breakdown policies.
Do any include a once a year European cover as well as I could do with one like that.
I'm with Insurance Choice. Great value for what I needed (European cover) and when I did need them in the UK they were very quick
I was with aa but like the op cost kept creeping up. I did a search on money saving expert and got Europe included cover for about 20% of what the aa wanted!
Not had to use it though so no idea if the actual service is any good...
I was with RAC for 23 years and they got dearer and dearer.Last few years been with Greenflag via the insurance companies way way cheaper. Now with Aviva/Greenflag.
There were girls stood on the round abouts when I was cycling in Spain last year - I suspect they'll offer a pretty comprehensive road side service!
I've been with first call for several years now. Used them a few times and can't fault for £40pm inc home start.
Leggyblonde I wish you'd change your name. Trade description act and 'all 😉
Will look them up
I've never used RAC but been taken home by AA and Greenflag, they're much of a muchness in terms of response times and support.
Greenflag sub it out to local garages afaik so service can vary, some of the ones I met seemed to go more than a few extra miles to get you going, some didn't even lift the bonnet and stuck it on the truck and took me home. The Telephone people DO listen to you though - I called once with a 8" hole in the housing of my gearbox and they sent a truck - AA always send a patrol guy and only he/she can call a truck.
Worth noting that back in the day AA always cover the person, so prices are set (ish) and they will rescue you even if your a passenger, Greenflag cover the car, they can be cheap if you have a modern-ish reliable car, but pricy if you don't - I used to get it free because I worked for RBS, I used to drive old VW Golfs, and broke down A LOT.
Hora, I'm 6'1" with long legs and blond hair as you well know 😉
Quotelinedirect.co.uk do one which is superb - great cover for not a lot of cash. I have used them numerous times and they are fantastic.
If yiu want European cover then join the German company Adac
They provide European cover and if you break down in UK they send the rac
