If they are small I have sent them by hermes as you can normally get them within the girth and -length requirement just. If they are bigger Parcelforce. I avoid sending valuable frames as have, perhaps misplaced, doubts that the courier will pay out if they damage it in transit.

Hermes about a tenner parcelforce was about 15, from memory; both were in the last year and sent uninsured due to modest value. I normally book postage through parcel2go

I will follow this thread as would love to hear of some better options.

Thanks Rob1984p
It’s a full sus 29”,so seems very unlikely I’d get it boxed within Myhermes max size.
Also value apx £650 so need more cover than they offer.
I’ll try Parcelforce

Parcelmonkey is worth a look, they are more reasonable for insurance than some others.

It seems £45-47 is the going rate to send a frame of £650 value.
I’m behind the times, I estimated £30-35, I think it’s the insurance really pushing it up.

I use parcelforce through my local post office, used several times with no probs, just use a proper frame box and protect the frame well, I always keep original box and packaging, every frame I've ordered from CRC has come by parcelforce.

Parcelforce have suspended large 48 hour service according to the email I had yesterday. Not sure about 24 or next day services but pf48 was always the best value I found.

I have just (yesterdey) sent a frame using Parcelforce 48hr, this service is not suspended in Scotland anyway.
Even an XS frame in a close fitting box was too large for other carriers, Hermes etc.
Basic cost for UK shipment was £16 if you take to a Post Office, more if you ask for collection.

Sent two in last few weeks, both by parcel force, the sending has been reasonable, the insurance ridiculous. 😬

If you Google for it you can normally find a 14% discount code for parcelforce, it's usually a month code with a couple of digits found on their website. It's only a discount on postage cost not insurance and before Vat so only makes a small difference.
It seems this month's is JL20
