went to the peaks the other week, and my racing ralphs were a bit rubbish.
I am getting a trance frame so what width tyre will that take, and what is a good all year round tyre these days?
thinking of 2.2 to 2.3, folding, for not much cash, with grip in rocky rooty conditions being the priority over rolling speed.
sorry if its already been done to death....
round ones, with nobbles
me personally, minion fronts (2.35) on front and rear.
you're probably best jumping over the roots\rocks than expecting to get grip on them however. Haven't found a tyre yet that grips on wet roots unless you let it down to 20psi....
They came with Kenda Nevegals and have to say, my Trance had a few different sets of tyres over the 3 years I owned it, but the Nevegals always felt spot on. I ran 2.1 but a friend uses the 2.35 sticky compound and loves them.
Maxxis, singleply Kevlar 2.35 high roller. Found these to be awesome. Places like chainreaction should have them in stock soon too.
