I need some advice on this, looking to build a go anywhere, long distance, dynamo powered, 29 x 3" bike, to accompany me on my great adventures! Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
I'm liking the Surly ECR, but after seeing all the other options, I'm very confused! Also, was looking to run single speed ๐Ÿ™‚

The bike does not matter. They will all take you on an adventure.

Wow, good point. So you don't think it's worth spending that extra on the Surly?

I just built a singular gryphon for that very purpose.

I decided I wanted drop bars to offer increased hand positions for long journeys. .. Particularly for lengthy Road sections where a slightly more aero position will help.

Staying full rigid for simplicity and efficiency. .. dont really miss the bounce on 29 inch wheels.

Loving it so far.

Next step is custom frame bags for multi day adventure. .. and dynamo hub paying a usb point to charge my exposure lights, garmin, smartphone etc

Singular rooster coming along some time soon also. Lots of 3" compatible rigid forks about, you could run 1/4 fat, going as wide as poss in rear of almost any 29er frame?

Thanks for the advice guys, the genesis looks brilliant but it's not out til next year, and I wanted to build something for this summer! And tbh I'd rather just go with the Surly seeing that the Singular is the same price. Surly it is I guess! Still don't get why they're so expensive, it's annnoyingggg

The Pugsley fatbike has been a lot of fun over the years, this wheel set raises the BB an inch, but only raises the BB a half inch with regular 29er tyres
1 bike-3 tyre size choices ๐Ÿ˜‰

One on fatty. For 700 bucks you would get the frame, carbon forks, fat wheels and tyres and a set of 29er wheels brand new. Two bikes in one:)
Shouldn't be too hard to build it for a grand or much less leaving 100s of pounds for nice kit.

September this year.

Worth thinking of whatever you choose is the total weight. Some of the above suggestions are hefty.
