Anyone know what size chainstay guard for an orange 5 bike, looking at the lizard skins super jumbo but not sure what size to get.

what for you cant get chain slap.
+1 for strip of old tube neatly wrapped (as on my Alpine 160). Heard of people using plastic edging strips (as used in various DIY applications I assume) along the bottom of the swing arm.
Convert to 1x10, stick a chain device on and then you won't get any issues! 😆
If he pedals like me, the chainstays will get scratched from heel rub 🙂Junkyard - Member

then pedal properly. An Orange 5 transforms your riding but its not that good 😀
Hey - if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck...
...quack, quack!
Any pics with these inner tube mods, seems tacky? Or maybe not ?
Mouse mat trimmed to size, frame coloured tape,no heel rub or chain slap ! 🙂

Cut inner tube
Slit inner tube lengthwise
Start at either cassette or crank end of the chainstay.
Wrap tightly - like you're doing bar tape.
Cut where appropriate.
Add a couple of zip-ties at the "open" end to stop it unfurling.

+1 for an old inner tube. If you trim them carefully they can look quite neat and you avoid the "Ragman's Coat" look.
I've also used a Panaracer puncture strip before too, it's thicker than a tube and is translucent too.
Loop part of velcro - works a treat 🙂
Forget messy old inner tubes or chainstay protectors, thick sticky backed velcro is what you want. No need for cable ties, you hardly see it and it stops noise better than the other options.
Doesn't the velcro fill up with mud?

Not particularly, I have heavy duty velcro on mine and it gets about as muddy as the neoprene protectors. Plus as it's sticky you get to trim it to shape, rather than wrapping it around.
I used Velcro for a bit but the corners kept lifting. My latest attempt and most successful uses a bath seal.
I got one of those bath seals that you bend 90 degrees along its length. Cut a 12" section off and cut down middle creating 2 thin sticky strips. 1 applied under the swingarm running long ways and 1 applied inside swingarm.
I don't uses anything for heal rub as it normally looks a bit lame. Just replace stickers from Orange for £10 every other year.
Clear sticky plastic sheet.couple of quid from tinterweb. Cut to size. Stick. Bingo
It's the 'swing arm' one!
In my experience the heavy duty velcro stays in place as long as you want it to, reduces noise better than anything else and is almost invisible. I'm rather fussy about keeping my bikes quiet, I use thinner velcro on the inside of my chain guide to stop annoying rattles.
