I'm doing the Way of the Roses Coast to Coast ride this coming weekend but the bike I will be using is new and for various reasons not able to be insured on our existing contents insurance.
Consequently I'll need to insure the bike for the duration of the trip and it will be locked up outside at times- can anybody recommend an insurer for this?
We should be doing the route in 2 days so ideally I'd like to be able to insure it without having to use an 'approved' lock as I clearly don't want to be dragging a massive D lock around with me...I wonder if there is a specific touring bike insurer maybe?
Thanks in advance for any replies
Try CTC for insurance, I've used them before.
Anyone will insist on an approved lock though. No-one's gonna be happy if you try to claim and you tied it with a bit of string to a lamppost overnight...
Cheers I'll check them out.
I can see why an approved lock is needed but presumably tourers don't schlep around with those massive D locks weighing them down all day?
