I currently use my Kinesis 3t as a touring bike, however the front fork does not have low rider mounts, and the solution I used last year isnt great. So I need a 700c, steel, canti equiped, low rider taking fork. Is there anything wrong with a surly long haul trucker fork? are there any alternatives?

cheers

You can get a lowrider rack that clamps on the fork legs.

No doubt surly fork will be fine.

Cheers for the suggestions.

My problem is that the bottom of my fork has a large overhang, which means I have to use a long bolt with spacers so that the low rider and mudguards can clear the overhang. this bolt tends to bend with even low weights and is generally a bit shonky.

The new Surly cross-check fork now comes with low rider mounts (didnt used to) so that might be a better option if you want to leave it on for cross as it has more mud room.

The one I use would circumvent that - it's bolted by a longer front QR.

I got mine at CRC can't see them there now.
