Building a kona stinky 24 for my son, using a 32t front ring and 11-32 rear. Want to fit a chaindevice, bb fit using shimano deore cranks. What would be easiest to fit?

E13 freechucker with 32-36 bash
E13 old sts 32-36t
E13 32t specific old style sts with 32t bash
...or I also have a stinger laying around, could fit this with a bash.

I think the 32t specific would look best, as it s smaller, but am thinking the freechucker will be easier to fit.

What do you guys think?

Thx Simone

Also I don't have any experience fitting any of these, but could call on help in emergencies.

they'd all represent the same difficulty to fit.
not very difficult at all if you realise what you need to achieve, ie. close tolerance, lined up and rotated correctly with adequate clearance from the frame to a possible complete nightmare if not.

As GW says they are all pretty similar and should all be pretty easy to fit. e13 devices are simple well made and easy to fit, all it will need is spacers to get it as close to the ring as possible and rotating to the right angle. If you have HT2 cranks, I am assuming you do, its best to fit the bb loose enought to rotate the device and snug it up when it is aligned with the cranks on.

Better to go for one that works, rather than worrying at fitting it.

And tbh my son has a Norco B-Line 24, and the chain never falls off.

And I reckon that the Stinky 24 must be the heaviest 24" wheeled bike, ever.

thanks for the advise so far, may just use the little 32t one.

b r, we also have a b line 24, great bike but not light (even after a severe diet!). Both are now stripped to the bare frame and i'd say the b line frame is a fair bit heavier (and bigger) than the stinky 24.

Our be line was a double and bash set up and no trouble with the chain falling off either, now changing to single ring up front though..

cheers
Simone
