I recommended my Dakine Highwire last week as they are the most ocmfortable gloves I've ever worn. Then I found a hole in the stitching. I've only had them since Xmas and then for much of the time have worn winter gloves. So, gloves that last, what, 10 rides? No recommendation anymore!

Mine lasted about 4 months of regular heavy abuse, many a days trail building aswel (a lot of axe work too).

I didn't get on with my pair of raji gloves. I use my Fox Unabomber until it's too cold not to, partly because they're comfy, partly because I'm clumsy and they've saved my knuckles more than once.

Troy lee... Its the only glove that hasn't come back faulty with holes in the fingers in the last three years...go for the Velcro cuff though as the loose cuff gloves does my swede in...

Maybe I'll take em back to Cycle Surgery.

I would. To give you an idea of how hard I am on gloves I once borrowed my wifes kona gloves which she'd worn once. One run down my local dh trail (granted a fairly full on run) and I'd torn the palms on both gloves to bits. I must really hang on for grim death.

I buy fairly cheep gloves as I have had more expensive ones and they don't last any longer - Mace Comp or simialr are very comfy and had them for a year now without any probs!

Sombrio Forensic - best fitting gloves I've ever tried, also love the whole cuffless thing. Had mine for 18 months and still going strong.

Oakley do a cuffless glove which is a pretty good sombrio forensic rip off. Cheap on crc last time I checked, comfy and well constructed. Unlike previous dh gloves I've had by oakley.

Fox Sidewinder. Best gloves I've ever had - super comfy and lasted a whole summer of riding/guiding in the Alps, no problem.

I'd avoid Sombrio I have had 3 pairs that have not lasted more than a month of light use, before the stitching comes apart.
I would go for Troy Lee XC's or Fox Sidewinder, cheap at stif, these are very good.

You should really try for fit with gloves!

I'm a 661 Raji type person. I get good wear out of them considering how flimsy they look.

Thanks GNARGNAR for the feedback on DaKines. Took them back and they swapped them no questions asked. Glad I bought something in an actual bike shop for a change.
Got the new model Highwires which don't look quite as good as the old ones, but better knuckle padding.
