Reading this thread, I'd have to say Santa Cruz myself.

😀

Do correct me if I'm mistaken though.

I have not read the thread but would have to agree.

It's the same with anything though; you get a certain breed of person who is easily led/not much of a thinker, and they'll buy into the hype with everything they purchase. See Apple/VW T5s/Santa Cruz/tattoos/Titanium bikes etc. etc. Of course some people buy the aforementioned stuff because it's good; you can spot them as they're not on a forum defending their purchasing decisions.

Dunno, you need something a bit more love/hate than SC.

OnOne?

Oh god it's a toss-up between SC and Orange for that prize.

I once dared mention that I thought that in the world of 650b Endruo bikes, Intense's Tracer makes more sense than the 'so hardcore it's not even enduro anymore' Nomad and the 'it's more of a Trail Bike' Bronson, but even that hissy fit comes a long second to the time I joked that Orange have been selling the basic same bike since Noah wheeled his 5 off the Arc.

No sense of humour some people 😉

I can hardly talk. My bike's mint coloured and is an Orange, I also fancy a Santa Cruz. To top it all I live within spitting distance of London, have a handful of tattoos and what could be construed as a beard. By all accounts I should be driven from stw by a baying mob.

defending their purchasing decisions

The funniest people on here to be fair and also the most easily triggered. Have they convinced themselves they are convincing everyone else?

Gotta watch them re-sale values boys!

It's got to be orange. No matter what I want another santa Cruz, the last 3 were awesome and my real test is when mates in the trade skip their brands and get sc you know it's a good bike.

Rubbing some 'tache wax on them with a check shirt will stop that.

Just the one for me at the mo.
🙂

Niece and her partner have it bad, A, 1*1, LHT, Crosscheck and an Instigator so far.
He's just sold his ECR to fund a Disk Trucker.

The 1*1 is my favourite.

Anyone who doesn't realise the engine matters more than the bike.

I could buy the very bestest bike ever and still be slower than some guys riding one legged unicycles backwards.

So I prefer simple bikes that will last and not break and don't have complicated stuff on them like derailleurs and bouncy bits.

Last time I was at Swinley, someone told me I shouldn't attempt some section or other because my bottom bracket was too low/high (can't remember which).

It was one of the stranger things anyone's said to me about bikes. (But it was a Saturday…)

The Cotic is steel, and the Surly is a steel singlespeed.

Right I've had enough of this constant victimisation.

I'm going with Orange- Santa Cruz owners are often precious, but Orange owners take it due to the peerless level of offendedness.

For instance, a guy with a cracked Alpine once got very offended when I said Alpines have cracking issues. How dare you! They're bombproof! Dude, yours is actually broken. NO! BOMBPROOF!

What would be the exact opposite of precious? ie, you have a cheap uncool bike and you are a dick about it around people you've just "beaten" who have expensive bikes? That's totally me.

Well... if you

1. had a cheap bike.
2. were any good at being a dick
3. ever beat people.

1 out of 4 isn't too bad I suppose.

Definitely orange.. Nice enough bikes but basic and overpriced

If they were made in Taiwan they would be slated, but given they are made in a shed in Halifax by a guy with an hnc in welding and a hammer they are above criticism.

They also appear to have the loyalist fan Base of any manufacturer. There are so many good bikes out there I struggle to see why folks always stick to one brand.

I'm no orange hater though, the alpine I rode was ace. But there are lots of ace bikes available, many far cheaper.

Are we talking owners of the bikes or owners of the brand? They're completely different and the original question was "which bike brand's owners . . . ?"
