Looking for somewhere fairly quiet, flat, smooth and safe to take kids biking. I used to go on a disused railway line converted to a path when I was a kid, something similar would be ideal.

4 year old just starting so on stabilisers, 6 year old pretty good.

Any suggestions? I'm located 10miles north of Reading but happy to drive up to 40mins-1 hour for somewhere good.

phoenix trail

not really berks, but not far from.
Green at Swinley is very short. Saw kids of that sort of age being terrified on the blue last week

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming.

May go and check out Snellsmore or phoenix trail this afternoon.

I did take my daughter around the fire roads at swinley last year but she was nearly taken off by a strava pilot so hoping for something a bit quieter. I have been to the local playing field a few times but looking for something a bit more interesting

Disused railway line between Didcot and Upton. Nice pub with beer garden in Upton and lots of red kites flying at bike height. Part of route 544.

Dorney lake is a good place to start riders. Traffic free, easy parking, watch for joggers.

Greenham Common. Cant get much flatter than an ex runway.
