I had been hoping to meet up with friends and ride a favourite loop in the Lakes, but they can't make it now, so - frankly - I'm a bit fed up :(. I live on the edge of Cannock Chase and ride there all the time, as well as the Peaks from time to time.

Mountain biking is a sociable sport but I find myself with nobody to go out with this Sunday. Does anyone know of any events or shop rides that I could head out to for a decent day out?

West Midlands MTB (WMMTB) normally do an off-piste ride on a Sunday morning, maybe have a look at their forum? My club (NATS) are at Afan for the weekend so i'll be riding the Long Mynd in the afternoon - welcome to come.

This is still sort of on your own but also sort of with other people, the 2nd round of the Midlands moutain bike Orienteering summer league is taking place near Church Stretton. You can enter on the day for 3 hours of trying to find control points. See BMBO Website

Thanks for the tips - I might check out WMMTB - even if not tomorrow - if they'll be ok with having a girl tag along
