Hi we are looking to go to the Alps in october for some downhill and trail riding but are having problems finding anywhere still open. Any suggestions? Or maybe somewhere else in Europe in October?

Spain, Italy really for that time of year. On the flip side I've had a great week in the UK that time of year.
during the last years I always spent a week in october in the valais region and haute savoie...
for trail exploring not DH...so not really dependant from lifts, used more busses,trains and regular "telepheriques"
weather was mostly fantastic !!, better than in july...but snow is everytime possible even in the valleys
and days are getting short in october...
would prefer going to finale for DH and trail.. or spain,
