I have a 1995 Specialized Hardrock Sport GX and it's a mess (parts missing etc). I'd like to take it to a recycle place where they will repair it and send it to Africa or somewhere else where it will be used and enjoyed again. Does anyone know of places in the south east (Southampton or Brighton ideally) where they recycle bikes?

My local shop in Dorking - [url= http://www.head-for-the-hills.co.uk ]Head For The Hills[/url] - sends bike parts out to Africa via a charity. Some is used to equip health workers with transport, some is used to supply local bike shops with parts to keep bikes running. They might be able to give you pointers, or possibly take in your Speccy.
You could sell it to me for the price of your hassle!
My friend NEEDS a new bike as his is a toys r us death trap. The wheel comes loose every few minutes and it is rusting to bits but he is refusing to get a new bike as he has had it 8 years and loves it still.
I'll fix it up for him and I can guarantee it will see another 8 years of use!

I left mine at newlands corner near Guildord, it was recycled (stolen) within an hour or two
