The sign post markers show the SDW starting in Winchester, on St Giles Hill - there is also street parking there as well 🙂
There's a multi storey car park near the council offices. Think most places are pay an display
Station car park? Actually cannot recall if there is one. Best bet is probably one of the residential areas or villages east of town or maybe the large Holiday Inn near Intec but car park is probably monitored. Might be worth the parking charges.
I would say avoid cheesefot head. Often broken glass there....
Left ours at the park and ride when we did the lemming a few years back.

Was supposed to do the BHF ride today but couldn't make it. I don't know the area so I was hoping I could park near to the (Chilcomb) start. Not bothered about starting from Winchester centre, seems like more hassle than it's worth. Looks like there are residential streets near to Chilcomb, just don't know if I can park around there without trouble for about 36 hours.
Mind you, if the car did get nicked, could be a blessing in disguise as it's up for sale and that's another hassle I can do without!
