Hi All,

Its my big 40 in June and I'd like to go on a MTB trip to try and forget the fact i'm getting on a bit now... 🙂

I'm looking for somewhere that will be warm and dry.

With Epic single-track, and great views - But NOT DH or Freeride
Just good old fashioned old school XC single-track

I've done quite a few trips to USA in spring and autumn but not in June.

Happy to travel to anywhere that’s NOT a third world country (I'm adverse to interesting diseases, parasites and kidnappers

If anyone has any suggestions from your past experiences I'd really appreciate it

Cheers

Zinger

Zinger, Finale, Italy gets my vote- visited two years on the trot now, had my 40th over there in 08'

Stay with Lorenzo who owns the Hotel Florenz in the town (www.florenzhotel.it) and he can give you local guides for some cracking cross country days and coastal views, really friendly people- finish off the day with a swim in the Med on the sea front.

I know you mentioned not beong fussed with downhill but I wouldnt rule out having a day of uplifts with these guys...

Excellent warm weather in June and based on the coast in Southern Spain.
Great singletrack rides during the day & lively night life on the coast at night.

Cheers Jedi, the link is Basque MTB. The weather in June should be perfect; not too hot and not too cold! You can see type of stuff on the web or read about us in Singletrack from their trip here. Give me a shout if you want any more information.

hey zinger....

a plug here for trailAddiction in les arcs, I'd reccommend them! (And that's not just me being biased, they really are good! Not sure if it bothers you but the typical customer often sounds like you, too in terms of age and preference).

But...and this can't just be a coincidence....if you type in "epic singletrack" in google, trailAddiction comes up top (well, 3rd actually, but they are the first website offering holidays at least!).

worth a look at least. I'd suggest one of their backcountry specials if you want a REAL epic.
