Trek remedies using 135mm axles have an extra long rear skewer (210mm apparently though I haven't measured mine to check). The lever is damn small and uncomfortable to use so I wondered if anyone knew of another version that could be used instead? I'd ideally love a shimano shape lever but not sure if this is possible or not.

Just get a normal length Shimano skewer, and use the nut/cam/lever from that with the threaded rod from your existing skewer?
So the current skewer might just unscrew from the lever mechanism? I've no tried it yet.

I tried to unscrew the lever from the bar but even with the molgrips as tight as possible it wasn't budging.
