A good pub would be ideal. But all suggestions welcome. Peebles town centre preferable, or short walk (as it's chucking it down).
The Curry house in Peebles is top notch

The pub in the middle is recommended - County Inn IIRC
Shite curry in the town. Great chinese near little sainsbury and the pizza place on the bridge. The place next to the bridge(upstairs) is nice too
Not tried the curry house but the the Italian (before the bridge) do nice grub - just don't order Tennants - I did it was warm and flat.
They did swap it when I asked tho thumbs up all round.
Osso is very good. Not "pubby" though.
I think the curry place is good at weekends with high turnover but not so good on a rainy monday.
The Chinese on the Northgate is surprisingly good, doesn't look much.
The curry was excellent last month. Also the County Inn is ok. If you can slum it the chippie is good too.

+1, the fish supper is superb.
Cheers folks. County Inn came up trumps with good ales and friendly staff. Food was average chain style pub grub, but did the job.
Frankie's Italian is worth a visit
