campsite (tent) or cheeky (bivvy) or in the back of the car...
The one with nice, warm showers sounds favourite. With nearby alehouse
any suggestions then? 😉
waterside farm (I think it's called) at pooley bridge is near the motorway, top of Ullswater. Some Good riding from there as well.
HOW MUCH!?
£14 and £23 for them!!! its just me, a bivvy bag and a tarp!!
ok, new question - what car park to sleep in the back of the car?! or where to wild camp?
How long you over for?
We are riding in the Lakes on the last weekend of the month if you're still around and fancy it?
in the uk until end of nov, but i think i'm gonna be based down in exeter until then, unfortunately! will keep that weekend in mind if i find myself in the north though!

There's a cheapo, basic campsite on one of the roads to the left off the A66 before you reach Keswick. Mostly caravans but they have tent space down by the river. It's nice enough, basic facilities, right on the disused railway line that runs into Keswick.
The Quiet Site is only 15 mins from Penrith.
Stayed there, Its ok but I distinctly heard a noise at one point.
Low Wray on the shore of Windermere is hard to beat in terms of views and its not too bad to get to.
Hawkshead is quite nice and easier access to the all important pub.
But if you want to sleep in you car/bivvy then I'd stay out the way in the Longsleddle valley at Sadgill at the bottom of Gatesgarth Pass - whats for breakfast? Nan Bield!
