1. Threaded Shimano pad retaining pins to put on my SLX brakes

2. Replacement O ring for Syntace X12 axle. I realise a standard O ring would probably do but now the old one has split I'm not sure what size I require.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Isn't it just split pins on SLX? If so, the caliper body won't be tapped.

As for the o ring just go buy a box of mixed o rings for a couple of quid from Screwfix or similar....I picked one up from Lidl and it's a real saviour.....tap spindles, automotive, bike, house, hose connectors etc etc etc.

Not true. Deore, SLX, XT and XTR calipers are all threaded. But only XT and XTR come with the threaded retainer bolt as standard.

I think I have some unused 15 year old slx brakes in the garage...any use?
I had thought of putting them on retrobike or somewhere.

Thanks all. Good suggestions ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes the SLX calipers are threaded they just don't come with the threaded pins. The split pins have annoyed me by catching on the spokes quickly solved by bending them more for now but looking to get rid.

CHB thanks for the offer but these pins are for disc brakes.

SJS Cycles are the place I go to for odd and obscure parts, may be worth a look.

I emailed Syntace too. Just asked for size spec. and they posted me some, from Germany.

I was hoping this thread could point me in the direction of some 1 1/8", single crown, 20mm bolt thru, 26" wheel forks.

Had an email response from Syntace (good customer service) who confirmed that the O ring is 12.5mm diameter with a 2.5mm cross section but that it is actually only cosmetic and the new version won't include an O ring.

I ordered a couple from Ebay for not much anyway.

Timber - have been searching for some reasonable 120mm QR forks with 1 1/8". Also hard to find!
