the nc-17 ones require a BIG allen key, not easy to do on the trail if you need to adjust when your out

Hmm - you have a point but I dont think I have ever adjusted any of my cranks 'on the trail' 🙂

It depends on which XT it is. M760 used part number 1F8 1100 and later M770 models used part number 1F8 1110. Can be ordered through any good bike shop from Madison.

My LBS (Sidwell Cycles, Exeter) took one off the owner's bike and stuck it on mine, and didn't charge me! legends.
