Depends how "rad" you want to get. Peaks are just about within 2 hours, and the wolds has lots of nice singletrack. But theres enjoyable riding to be had from s****horpe, being the "industrial garden town" that it is. Try going down West Common, down farmers lane, through burringham to flixborough(all road, but nice fast section, then offroad from flixborough, past burton (including the wood climb up the stather) past julians bower and the like past winteringham, all the way to the bridge easily.
Or cut out road sections, and head through Aky's Warren straight to flixborough. Could even include a cheeky session at Burton DJ's.
Some nice speed trials to be had on the drop from dragonby to saxby-all-saints as well.

Theres some reasonable dh bits at Sherwood pines now and a dedicated dirt jump part too. I waas there today (travelling from near Gainsborough so know how little decent biking there is round there too!)it had changed a fair bit since my last visit 6 months ago.
