Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any idea where i can get some fork boots/gaiters for my '99 Boxxer 151's? I know this year didnt come with them as stock but the slightly older ones did. I'd like to prolong my seals and get an even more retro look by fitting some black boots. The forks are on a retro'ish build.

I have seen motocross ones that cover 32mm stanctions but typically these are very thick and probably wont 'squash' down to a small enough size (so will in effect reduce my available travel on full compression).

So chaps, any ideas on where i could get the 'proper' ones or experiences with motocross or machine (hydraulic ram) gaitors?

If you have any old boots for sale (for the forks i mean) then please let me know.

Cheers, Jay

don't think gaiters do much good unless you lift them and clean underneath after every ride otherwise muck gets trapped underneath and the gaiters hide the damage, mucky nutz fenders are pretty good tho

There's a very good reason you don't see neoprene boots any more! They hold all the crap in!

I intend to carry out the same maintenance on my forks I.E. Wash down and clean seals/stanchions after every ride, even use Juice Lube prior to all rides. Its mainly for the look really.

I don't want the horrid neoprene ones, its the proper ribbed rubber ones i am after!

Cheers

Motorcycle ones in that size will be fairly light rubber so will compress right down and should do the job nicely.

Pop to your local motorcycle shop and they should have a range available by top and bottom diameter and length.

Motorcycle gaitors are designed to be tie-wrapped top and bottom so should keep everything out.
