I'm getting a custom made frame built to take a Gates belt drive.
The manufacturer gave me a quote for all the Gates parts, but it was quite a bit higher than the prices on Nicolai's website.
He's quite happy for me to source the parts elsewhere, so I requested a quote from Nicolai in Germany.
I haven't heard back from them yet and, by coincidence, the Gates prices all disappeared off their order generator the next day.
I emailed Simon from Nicolai UK to see if he could help, but got an automated Out Of The Office reply.
These are the prices I've been quoted;
Gates Centre Track 50t 4 bolt front pulley 1 £87.50 £87.50
Gates Centre Track 28t 9 spline rear pulley 1 £61.25 £61.25
Gates Centre Track 20t pulley for Rohloff 1 £55.83 £55.83
Gates Centre Track 122t belt 1 £74.17 £74.17
Gates Centre Track 118t belt 1 £74.17 £74.17
Those are all plus VAT as well. Nicolai were cheaper than that in Euros including German VAT, so it's put the anticipated price of the project up a bit.
Does anyone know where I can get Centre Track parts ?
I suspect there was a mistake on Nicolai's website and I was basing my cost on out of date information.
I can supply this stuff and the prices would be:
Gates Centre Track 50t 4 bolt front pulley £92
Gates Centre Track 28t 9 spline rear pulley £65
Gates Centre Track 20t pulley for Rohloff £57
Gates Centre Track 122t belt £78
Gates Centre Track 118t belt £78
I have most of it in stock. The biggest problem with this stuff is very expensive shipping options from Germany offered by CD. So unless you can find someone in the UK who wants to buy and hold a large amount of stock, it's going to be costly.
Steven
Thanks for the reply, Steven, but you're about the same price as the frame manufacturer, so I might as well get everything from them. It's nice to know the stuff is available though.
It does look like there was a mistake on Nicolai's website and they deleted all the Gates prices once I had drawn their attention to it.
think Ringo knows 'a man' he runs one o' them hoover bike jobbies,I'll txt him..........
have you tried emailing mike at nicolai. same email address, just mike instead of simon.
