Obviously the answer to this question is "go down your local bike shop and ask them!". Unfortunately I cant do that, because I live on an island and we dont have a bike shop, so I wondered if any of you had any idea where I could buy a pair online, because one of mine is rounded and I cant tighten it up enough to stop my crank arm falling off!! Ive tried ebay, chain reaction, evans, google search, and found nothing. All I want is 2 bolts, how hard can it be!! Any help would be much appreciated.
Do you mean the bolts on a hollowtech crank or the ones for a square taper crank?
its the two allen bolts that clamp the left crank arm on hollowtech cranks that i need.
Hardware shop may well have them probably an M2 bolt but can't say for sure without seeing.
The shimano clamp bolts are M6 x 19mm. Madison list them as a spare part Linky Any LBS should be able to get them in for you - but if you really can't get to an LBS then any M6 thread, hex head, stainless steel bolt, of about 19mm should do - try a hardware store!
I've got a great little hardware shop near me, I'll take one of mine in and try and get a few (will be less than pennies typically). Never hurts to have spares and if no-one else can help in the meantime, will post you a couple in the week.
What make? if Shimano, find the part number from the tech docs, and google it for shops that sell them online, Petra Cycles or SJS come to mind.
Ooops my guess was a mile out in the size then.
Try and get tapered head bolts. I broke one on my cranks and with a standard bolt they pushed against the edges of the recess and the crank would work loose.
Or you get a pair of titanium ones for 6 quid.

Should be a bit harder to round off.
Slane cycles have a range of original Shimano clamp bolts of varying sizes depending on which particular cranks you have - just go to their site Slanes and type "Shimano clamp bolt" in the search box. I've bought numerous bits and pieces from them online and find their service good, tho' not as fast as the big boys, but then the big boys don't seem bothered with stocking a huge range of Shimano spares...

+1
The bolts Shimano use have a smaller caphead diameter than off the shelf bolts so they'll not tighten down in to the countersink. I had real bother trying to find something from numerous lbs. Most wouldn't entertain the idea of ordering in a couple of bolts, they'd have had to go on the next Madison order which could've been weeks.
Don't bother with Ti bolts, they're a heap of plop.
thanks a lot for all your help, folks, very much appreciated.
perthmtb, thats the second time you`ve helped me out in a week, so give yourself a good guy gold star.
i had a look on slanes website and they had bolts listed for quite a lot of shimano cranks but not my specific ones, so i emailed them. im sure some of the ones they have in stock for other cranks will fit, but its better to ask than to guess and order wrong. i got the part numbers i needed off the shimano tech website, that was a good shout too jimc101.
thanks again, maybe one day i will be able to offer some of you some helpful advice for a change!
