I'm hankering after a new set of wheels for my Nicolai Helius CC.

It's currently rolling on a set of Hope Hoops with DT5.1's, and I've got two sets in mind:

1st are the Hope SPC 6's with Stans 355 rims

2nd are the American Classic MTB set.

The Americans are a bit lighter but are £70 more, any views on either set?

Riding wise it's trail centres, XC, enduros, all dayers etc. would probably keep the other Hoops for tougher days in the big hills, but would I have to?

I'm aware the Hopes have a weight limit of 85kgs, but as I'm under 80 that's not an issue really.

Typically I run 2.25" Nobby Nics or 2.0" Mud X's when it's proper muddy.

Suppose this is in the quest to get down to one bike that can do everything that I wanna ride.

Other than the two mentioned above does anyone have any other suggestions with an upper limit of £400

I went with the American Classics myself, partly due to the weight limit on the Hope's. I've only had them about a month so can't comment on durability yet. They do seem lovely though and certainly much lighter than the Hope XC/X717's they replaced.

If you don't mind me asking, how heavy are you that put you off the Hopes?

85kg is only a bit over 13 stone, and I'm nearer 16.
