Were discussing it at work, mine have to be Apocalypse Now, Good Morning Vietnam, Platoon and Blade Runner - bit of a theme going on there!

I'll be the boring obsessive and nominate a bike video: Sprung 3.

They got a mate to make most of the soundtrack, guy calls himself Smoove. The album was never officially released because of the number of unlicensed samples (i think), but i got a burn of a copy from someone. After the slightly dated sounding first minute or so it turns into an entire album of chilled funk/electronica.

Guaranteed to relax me when the deskjob is getting too much, and has born one hell of a lot of repeated listens without getting boring.

trainspotting
pulp fiction, or any quentin tarantino film. he's bloody good at getting the music just right.

I'm not really a fan of U2, but i think hold me, kill me, kiss me, thrill me (the song they did for one of the batman films) is a cracking song.

I'm with diggers on this one, love all the Badalmenti soundtracks - Twin Peaks theme is my fave.
"The harder they come" is great too and still gets played regularly in the car.

Get Carter - the awesome double bass intro makes you feel menacing just listening to it.

(anyone who likes this could get hold of a decent compilation called Get Budd, Roy Budd did a lot of funky soundtracks and is sampled all over the place these days)

Babel - Gustavo Santoallala's spooky guitar stuff brings a tear to the eye.

Anything by John Barry

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Good call on Paris, Texas above. I prefer Southern Comfort though, much more dark and brooding.
But, the best ever soundtrack is
Dead Man - Neil Young with the most evil gorgeous guitar playing ever.

Much of the above is great but my favourite has to be the life aquatic with steve zissou, how can you not like an album full of bowie originals and Portuguese cover versions?

Snatch was surprisingly good too

Quadrophenia.

Placcy mod! 😉

Morricone, yes! A Fistful of Dollars is my fave one I've heard.

3rd (or possibly 4th or 5th, i can't be arsed to read the thread) The Big Lebowski.

Blaxploitation films usually have amazing soundtracks. Black Caesar and Superfly are two of my faves.

L'Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg is technically a soundtrack (to a TV special) and is such an awesome record, I want to run home and listen to it right now.

Anyone who likes Bullit should check out Piero Piccioni's soundtrack to [url=

on a Chain.
