That's cos they generally don't deal with members of the public...
Go to nearest dealer, do it through them.

How's things anyway, you back on the bike now?

I recently went through Madison for the Bell crash replacement - the instructions are on their website. Phone them, get a reference number and send your helmet to them with a covering letter and a cheque for the replacement helmet. My helmet did get lost by the PO so send it registered.

ISTR they only do it if you have the original reciept and go to the shop you purchased it from. This was the deal about two years ago.

yep, riding again. My knee hurts.

I need to go direct to Madison, according to the dealer I took it to.

The Giro Crash Replacement Programme

The Giro Crash Replacement Programme is available only to customers that are resident in the UK and purchased their helmet from a UK dealer. A helmet up to three years old can be replaced at a reduced price, if it has been involved in an accident. The replacement will always be the same model as the original or the nearest current equivalent if the original is no longer available. When the same colour helmet is no longer available, the customer will be sent an alternative colour from the current range.

This programme is designed to subsidise the cost of buying a replacement when a Giro helmet has been crashed.

The customer must first contact the Madison Warranty & Technical department to obtain a returns number, and then send in the following:

the old helmet
information about the accident
proof of purchase of the old helmet
A cheque or postal order made payable to Madison, a division of H. Young Operations Ltd for the appropriate amount (see charges below)
Prices are subject to change from time to time, a full list of the most up to date replacement costs can be found at www.madison.co.uk/giro

These should be sent by the customer directly to:

Madison Customer Care Department, Madison Distribution Centre, Alston Drive, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes, MK13 9HA. Phone: 01908 326032.

Madison Cycles will send the new helmet directly to the customer.

yeah, I've seen that. I was just asking if there was an email address for that department to save me having to ring someone when I'm at work.

but at least I've been reminded of the text on the website, the fact that I need a receipt and some other stuff I didn't ask for ๐Ÿ˜‰

It's a pity they're a bit iffy about a receipt. Specialized don't bother (but then that's the manufacturer, not just a distributor).
