Evening All,
After thoughts and opinions on this - http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBPXSLPR/sl-pro-carbon-sram-red
The SL Pro Carbon Sram Red @ 1199.99 English pounds. I've been looking at it for a month or so and been hovering over the buy button a few times, started off with looking at Model B wheels but this really caught my eye.
Well I've just realised the 20% off ends this Sunday so price jumps back up and I'm now thinking what are the other options with the same build and quality spec for the same 1199.99 out there or is it really a great deal?
I've not got a great deal of knowledge on the Road bike side of things so constructive thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated.
So I guess the question is - Do I raid my rainy day fund or not??
Cheers
Carl
I bought one in November and it is the best road bike I have owned or ridden. Really comfortable and responsive when acclerating hard on the cranks.
Can't reccomend it enough to be honest. For the monet I think you would have to go some to beat it. I also looked at the Ribble Grand Fondo but opted for the Planet X on the basis I have nothing but good experiences with On-One, scandal frame, inbred frame, clothing, carbon forks etc.
Go for it!
Really like the frames, i have an SL carbon pro and a Stealth.......watch out for the RED and DURA ACE build though.......crap wheels, bars, stem, post, saddle and generally cheaper/lower spec cranks, cassette and chain all to meet a price point!
Great just what I wanted to hear. Thanks
The SRAM RED build which I'd go for looks and reads pretty good but as for bars, stem, seatpost I'd be non the wiser as to which end of the market it's from. Model B wheels always get great reviews and tbh at that price I appreciate something is going to have to be of a lower spec to meet the selling price it's just determining which bits and whats going to be the upgrade cost. I prob not change owt though as going from an Allez it's going to be a massive difference by the sounds of it.
The model B wheels are unbeatable for the price IMHO
