Buying the cheapest anything is often not the best idea.

Gravel hog - road biker.
I realise the cheapest is probably not the best option but was looking at the planet X's and wondered if any one has seen any bargaintastic web stores out there like pauls cycles and the like?

I got confused by the 'gravel' bit as I associate that surface with being more offroad 😀

Does it need to be carbon?

You can pick up a CADD10 or Synapse Cannondale 105 or maybe a Giant Alliance with 105 group on for around £1k.

Infact I think you can pick up a Cannondale CADD8 with 105 for £800 brand new from Pauls Cycles.

Maybe also look at Canyon or Rose bikes.

Giant TCR Alliance cheap at Pauls Cycles...

Does it need to be carbon though? Plenty of very good ally bikes (many of them probably better than cheap carbon frames) around for well under £1k new...

Have a look here...
