[Closed] What's like the Endura Air Defence jacket?

I have an aged Endura Air Defence jacket. It's like a softshell but dates from before that term was invented. It has windproof/water resistant fabric all round, chest and back pockets and pit zips. This makes it a great commuting and MTBing jacket for about half of the year or more.

Unfortunately my Air Defence jacket is ancient and is probably going to die sooner rather than later. My limited attempts so far to find a replacement point towards most softshells now having wind/waterproof material only on the front and arms, with thinner fabric on the back. This is for breathability apparently but I'd like something which protects my back as well as my fronts and sides.

The Endura Urban softshell has protective fabric all round but as a hybrid jacket lacks some feature (pit zips) and has some unnecessary ones (a hood). Cycle Scheme have been plugging Showers Pass recently and their Skyline Softshell may be what I'm looking for but I've not seen one in the flesh so it's hard to be sure.

Can anyone suggest anything similar to my old Air Defence?

Most of the gore windstopper range still offers full protection all round. Pit zips really shouldn't be needed on a soft shell - the whole point is they breathe well compared to hard shells.

I find my Air Defence's pit zips allow me to tune how warm it feels, allowing me to use it in quite a range of temperatures.

I'll check out the Gore range, thanks.
