mate has got one of these gathering dust in his shed and asked me to find out if its worth anything.

Looks a bit like this, without the red panaracer tyres

All I know is that ist got rockshox judy Forks on it, and no disc brakes.

i was thinking £100-£150 but wondered if any retro value?

No retro value.

Your valuation sounds about right. To be honest it'd be a good bike for someone who wants to ride on towpaths etc, far nicer than £150 would get you new!

I sold a 2001 Rockhopper last year for £130, and it wasn't particularly tidy.

I might be interested, what size is it and where in the country is it?

its a 17" and in Scotland, but think he was hoping for closer to £300. Sounds like its got decent kit on it, ricthey seatpost XT Kit.

I doubt he will get £300 for it though.

Edit: because the spam post has gone.

Sounds like its got decent kit on it, ricthey seatpost XT Kit.

They had an XT rear mech, but were LX otherwise IIRC, the Ritchey seatpost is a basic £20 alu job. It's got crap forks and v-brakes are the issues, and not disc compatible hubs.

Oh dear me 😀

Its a perfectly good bike, you could ride that anywhere.
i'd say stick it up in the local press or egay for £300 bikes are big news at the moment and spesh always do well on egay.
