So i'm looking at changing my DH and trail bike for a Specialized Enduro Expert carbon but Specialized are only selling a cheaper coil enduro or the comp. Why? I'd have thought with the rise of enduro riding they'd be pushing it forward? Is there anyway I could get my hands on a expert carbon?
I've never really understood the way specialized spec their bikes in the UK. Great frames, but some interesting choices. Not many good colours available either.
Like you say they should be pushing the enduro hard at the mo- and yet what do you ever hear about them?
I met a guy with one at Swinley about 6months back- it was a great colour and spec and we got chatting about it. He'd got a friend to import the frame and built the rest up. It was pretty close to the way id spec it if it were my bike- I remember looking on their uk site when I got home and being disappointed with the lack of choice.
Specialized UK was not selling enough enduros for it to be worth the bother supporting them. The Stumpy Evo was viewed as enough bike and has reviewed and sold pretty well.
You certainly see plenty of stumpy evo's on the trails. Friend has one. Lovely bike, but definitely more xc orientated than the enduro which in my mind is a true do-it-all bike. Ride it from your house, ride it at trail centres, take it to the alps in the summer.. Rip up some dh tracks etc etc. My kinda bike ๐
But so much choice in that category that I guess the sales numbers for the Stumpy made the decision pretty easy.
You could spend a day in France and bring one back. Its easy to line one up before you go. Was going to do it for a frame but managed to get a bargin on a S Works here
