but the gate thing will just be annoying it's right at the bottom of the hill and you'll have to dismount.

whats that then?

Pook - this should help

http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/cycling-and-walking-and-prow/prow/maintaining-paths/construction-details

Are you saying they plan to block a bridleway with a horse hop and a K gate?

I've never seen a motorbike on that bridleway. Personally I wish the council would leave well alone with the paths and instead fix the ponds/dams in the porter valley before we lose them forever.

Is this what you mean K Barrier used to prevent motorbikes et al getting on trails. Looks like I was beaten to it by Porterclough by 33 secs ๐Ÿ˜‰

It's in now

And wide bars don't fit through ๐Ÿ˜•

[img] [/img]

Better get practising big jumps or trials skills to get over the left hand side!

I don't think my bars have ever fit through anything like that, always had to stop and twist or go over the wooden pit

Well, no I don't think any bars would fit through to be honest.

befriend some disabled people with mobility scooters and tak them up there. get a few pics. then contact the council and start banging on about DDA 2005. They'll claim they can over-ride DDA in matters of public safety which is true if it's used by motorbikes. However, if the scooter users can make more noise than the people who've spotted bike on there, they may come out. The other thing is, this usually comes about people the people who can really deal with the bikes on there (ie, the police) don't bother and as such, it's left to the local authority who can only resort to measures like this.

Sorry, bit of a bugbear of mine these things.

I didn't actually test it out, but the gap between the K Gate and the fence/bush out of shot on the right was pretty slim too!

I reckon you could wheelie through that, or if its a fast section just bunny hop over the wood.

The K barrier is supplied flat packed and it is upto the people installing to read the simple instructions but from the picture it seems ok. Mountain bikes are required to turn the handlebars to get through. However check out the link to the official site or here for proof of the concept and examples of users.

Before anyone ask I don't work for them but I have had dealings with the company.
