I've just been eyeing up that Airborne frame on the classifieds and trying to knock some sense into myself (no, no, no - I don't need it....)

cannondale CAAD frames, feels like steel, but its not so doesnt weigh a ton, i've an R500 with a handfull of upgrades.

trek 1200/1.2 much harsher, but 0.5lb lighter

Both were under £350 a few years back, but I noticed my 2003/4 bike has actualy appreciated in the last 4 years!

Road bikes are a gentle evolution, but that does mean a 5yr old bike looks 5 years old, and an 8+yr old bike will look dated.

Thanks - don't want to spend £500 Hugo and think that's too big for me anyway
