SWMBO has got into road biking & I have finally convinced her of the benefits of using SPD's. We live a couples of hundred yards up a track & need to be able to walk to the end of it without falling or trashing the soles of the shoes, so road shoes seem to be out of the question. Any ideas for good, stiff soled, women's MTB shoes at a reasonable price? Who knows, she may even wind up using them off road!
Specialized stuff is great for me (male) but depends what fits. I would suggest taking her shoe shopping to see what fits. Racey mtb shoes will do a bit of walking, but is like wearing tap shoes. Recessed cleat trainers may be more sensible, and you can wear them around town once you get there but you would sacrifice soul stiffness I suspect.
Just standard Shimano mtb shoes. What size? Teen2 has outgrown (yet) another as new pair 🙁
mrs gasket just bought some of these puppies

They look like the sort of thing I was thinking about - does she like them & how is the fit?
(She is a 38 I think)
£130? Your idea of 'reasonable cost' seems to be a bit different to mine!
The link gave a price in euro's, my 1st pair of sod shoes os over 14 years old & still going…..
Sadly it seems likely she is a 39… Went mad on some lakes in the end from wiggle.
There is a bargain above waiting to be had.
