.....look like after being pounded and abused on European bikeparks for 3 weeks.

This is just a little nod to some kit which stood up to some cruel abuse and came back for more...

Continental Der Baron Black Chilli DH tyres. Were brand new on the way out. Lasted quite well really considering the amount of riding and levels of punishment.
Every single knobble now has something of a Bobby Charlton comb-over 😀

In the final week of our trip, a mate broke his wrist near the top in Les Deux Alpes. Mountain rescue wouldn't take his bike, all the lifts were closed so I was left with it.

I tried wheeling the two bikes down but it was steep, a hell of a long way and I kept falling on me @rse, so I took a bike apart(God knows why I took mine apart and rode his...) and lashed it to my Dakine Apex backpack with an inner tube and the helmet carrying section.

Its a Nukeproof Mega,Coil shock, DH wheels and tyres, built heavy and so I was pretty impressed with the strength of my backpack to hold it all on without any of the plastic buckles breaking or stitching coming away.

It was a real test of kit for our trip. Some impressed the hell out of me, some failed repeatedly.
What kit have you relentlessly abused and has surpassed your expectations?

Great stuff.

Get that rear tyre on the classifieds, no pictures, describe it as "plenty of life left".

Are they worn symmetrically or do they show that you're better at turning one way than the other? 😉

Pretty symmetrical actually, but yes, I'm far better at going round left-hand corners. Isn't everyone? 😀

Actually I'd say I'm worse at right-hand corners. 😉
