Looking to get some tougher tyres for my Salsa Horsethief. In an ideal world I'd just get a butcher control, but they don't seem to be available in the UK. High Roller 2's seem to be the best bet but they're pretty expensive, so what else is about that'd do the trick? Cheers for any suggestions.
Butcher Grid โ
That's what I meant to say when I wrote "In an ideal world I'd just get a butcher control" ๐ I've already got Butcher Control on either end, can't get Butcher Grids in the UK.
I bought a Butcher control last week from Evans, 26" but I'm sure they had other sizes. Sheffield shop.
Ah! Ignore above, I was typing whilst you posted.
Minion dhf Exo.
You can buy Butcher Grids from Germany.
29" Butcher Grids will be coming around the 4th of September according to Specialized UK. Wanted one for the front of my Horsethief (Slaughter Grid on the back) , for an upcoming Alps trip, unfortunately I fly out on the 29th August, then back on 5th September! So I bought a 3C Exo Minion instead! (Extra now have stock). Great tyre but cost more at trade than the RRP of a Grid!
I ended up getting a butcher grid from nano-bike in Germany. Took about a week to come and including postage was less than the grid tyres over here!
Cheers jabbi, useful to know! I'll probably wait out for one of those then and put it on the back (It's a shame that the grid compound is harder than the control, as I'd probably just get a pair if that were the case)
