[Closed] What 'town and country' hybrid bike for my mum?

Hi all,
My lovely mum, who's 56, wants to lose some weight because walking the dog isn't doing it. She hates swimming and would therefore like to start cycling.

I suggested some sort of hybrid style given that my folks live in West Wales and her riding will be a mixture of cinder tracks, road and maybe even forest trails - go mum!

Max budget about £300, second hand is fine, does anyone have any suggestions of what I should look for?

I remember a Raleigh Pioneer from years ago but have no idea now.
