In SS setup I can make shimano XT 16point, SLX 32point, Hope XC's and some other hubs jump within the freehub
Always when really giving it some to get over that short sharp rise, and my 90kg or so does no favours
I'm after a hub that can cope with properly high torque loads
I'd like to stick gears on my SS sometimes but I'm thinking if I want a tough freehubbed hub for SS, its likely theres a SS hub for the job
Perhaps one of the mini-cassette type ones, can hope's SS hub take a 6 gears of a cassette block? Can others?
I'm guessing DT's star ratchet might be the answer, but its a lot of money to outlay for what is probably my 3rd used bike
Hope is nearly the same money, but is sold a a trials hub? The tech sheets suggest the pawls/rathchets are wider than in the normal Pro2? 10mm vs 8mm?
Superstar seem to have discontinued theirs?
WTB Singleduty is just about discontinued, but I can find them reduced?
What else?

Sure you don't just need to really tighten the lockring?
I'm 90 kilos and I've cracked the odd cone under peak load, and dragged chains off small ss sprockets without enough chain wrap, but I've never overloaded free hubs. I'm struggling to see how you would without making it fail.
Are you sure it's not the chain jumping? It's much more likely.
Chris king; tightens under load
Shimano made a 29er hub for higher torque.
But I don't buy that's whats happening.
Profile 6 speed cassette hub. I have one and run it as SS and have also run it as a dingle speed with 2 wide based surly cogs. It's bombproof and dishless so builds into a very strong wheel
Pro 2 Evo either in trials guise or normal. Don't think you'd actually need a trials though as internally they're both the same.
hope single speed hub user here. Has stood up to me straining up hills and i'm no race whippet.
Now running as bodged 6 speed as the commute has double in distance and its now mostly roads.
Hope trials hub is even louder IME. And has twice as many engagment points as the pro2 though i think that is about engagment points for proepr trials nadgeriness rather than the strength or durability of the mechanism. And yes you can put 6 sprockets of a 9 speed cassette on it if you want. And the trials one is steel so less worry of chewing up the splines with your power-thighs OP (you can retrofit a steel freehub to pro2 at a cost).
I don't think the hubs are to blame here. The only time i've ever known freehubs to slip is when i've failed to maintain them correctly. 100kg singlespeeder here.
Spend money if you wish (i can recommend the Hope SS) but i suspect you could see some benefit from stripping and cleaning the hub(s) you're using.
A 22t granny ring will put in more torque / chain tension than ss so I don't think your problem is the freehub intenals.
Regarding your other question, I've modified a 9 speed XT cassette to fit 7 cogs on the Hope ss freehub (need to machine a bit off the back of the sprocket carrier). But Hope can do a steel freehub and solid bolt-in axle for the regular cassette hub (so can cover all options, run a clutch mech with 10 gears or spacers and singlespeed). I've got both ss and regular Hope hubs and think the pawls and springs are the same width.
The only reason a pro 2 jumps is over greased / dirty pawls or broken springs.
Hope Pro 2 SS / Trials hub with the bolt in 10mm cap heads rather than the QR.
I ran 33-17 for two years with no problems. I then fitting 6 x 10 speed sprockets and a ZEE mech to go 1 x 6, just to see if it would work. Now running 32-19, my back is buggered (waiting for surgery), to help with a couple of very steep hilly loops. Ran either a 9 or 10 speed chain.
I'm 120kg and never had a problem with any set up.

If it's happening with a multitude of hubs it would suggest there's something wrong with your set up or maintenance, not the hubs.
You are Sir Chris Hoy…… or maybe not
This happens to me when I have the chain too tight. If there is no slack in the chain I can destroy hubs very easily singlespeeding.
I would recommend Hope Pro 2 Trials, they have additional bearings in the freehub compared to the standard pro 2. Not sure if this give extra strength but I've had no issues other than replacing the bearings in mine.
