Hello,

I need some winter MTB attired for my lower half.

What can you recommend?

I guess a rough criteria is:

Water/"weather" proof
Able to keep heat in during winter
Comfortable
Shorts or longs, doesn't bother me I don't think.
Easy to clean/wipe down post ride.

Cheers for any suggestions!

Nothing waterproof on the legs is that comfortable.
A pair of padded roubaix bib-longs would be my choice.

Don't go waterproof, they wont' be that comfy.

I wear what mudsux suggested - a pair of roubaix padded bib shorts.
They have a windstopper front and are warm when they get wet.

If it's not going to be cold but will be muddy I have a thinner pair of cheap unpadded longs I put over normal padded shorts - I just peel these off when I get home, let the mud dry on them and then brush the mud off.

I might wear them twice before washing depending on how often I'm riding.

Another vote for tights or if you're allergic to lycra in public, get some cheap soft shell trousers with narrow ankle cuffs.

Roubaix bib 3/4's, long wool socks and long shorts over the top.

roubaix bib longs for me, and if it's daylight, either singletrack shorts or Altura Attack 3/4 on top, the latter if proper wet.
