The kids (twins) are getting close to moving up to their first grown up bikes. I've been round the houses a bit:
- 2nd hand 26" bouncy bike
- End of season FS frame and build it up with 26er bits I have lying around then transition to 27.5 when they grow a bit (bird / vitus / cube)
but thinking not that a plus bike HT might be the way forward.
They are still skinny and light but getting to 150cm tall so getting a big old unit up a hill will be a chore but I had a sit on a Mondraker Vantage RR+ pn the weekend and it felt fun and light.
Can you recommend any other bikes in that genre worth taking a look at?
The other options are looking at around grand so I guess 1K - 1500 is the ball park I've been considering.
Most of the use would be: Surrey hills hence the reason that a HT would be okay but we take the usual UK trips and like to ride in the alps too although I concede that they would probably still benefit from renting a more DH bike out there so it doesn't have to be suitable for that.
