I'm 6ft and ride a large, spot on for me. I think I was bang in the middle of the large on the sizing guide.

I'm 5'11" - I tried the medium first (I have a medium Whyte) and it was too small, went for the large with a shorter stem (60mm) and felt perfick!

I'm 5'9" and I've got a large 2011 heckler with a short stem and straight seatpost.
Pretty much fits me perfectly.

I'm 5'11" with an old, pre-2007, Large (60mm stem and inline seatpost). It's more 'trail' than gnarr for me.

6 ft ish on a Medium straight post and 70mm stem it's easier to chuck around and I ride for long stretches no worries.

I'm 5'11, ride a medium frame with a layback post and 80mm stem. I do sometimes wonder if I'd have benefitted from getting a large frame but its still a great ride and very happy with it.

I've had 3 hecklers, all large & I'm 6ft in my socks.

At 5'11 if you have Tyrannosaurus arms, want a BMXesque type chuckabout OR use a barge tiller for a stem then medium, otherwise large and 50-70mm stem.

A layback post is only any use if you have bought the wrong size frame.

santa cruz size chart has 5'10 right at top of medium and overlaps with range for large. I'm 5'10 and had a medium nomad which was a perfect fit, but I like my bikes on the small side and now ride a 16" Orange Alpine (same top tube length 22.5" which suits me along with a longer than new skool fashion 80-90mm stem).

for normal riding and a normal rider youd be comfortable on a large- pedalhead on here rides a large Blur and it looks and rides "right" with a more fashionably acceptable stem length.

either will fit you with the difference taken up in stem/seatpost an personal preference.
