Over winter I was wearing some Alpine stars enduro trousers and I really liked them, although they were on the snug side even then. Since then I've been back in shorts and done a lot of squats, tried them on yesterday and they are spray on on the legs, but the waist i fine. Which brands are a little more generously cut?

Same problem here.
Heavily into crossfit here and squatting at least 3 times per week messes up with your MTB gear proportions.
