So I bought a cheapie 2011 or 2012 Haro 124 cruiser bmx for mucking about on punk tracks. First time out loved it - second time out somewhere else a bit faster it was a bit scarier - I half heartedly pulled up on a roller and not really surely what I did but it was the closest thing possible to a crash without actually hitting the deck.
Result is a completely tango’d rear rim. Hub seems ok - so I’m thinking I want a replacement 36 hole rim for it - but have no clue about bmx rims.
It’s not going to see flatland tricks and it’s not a race bike - just want something less cheese like than what was on there.
Bmx was only £50 so I don’t want to spend loads on a rim - think I need something double wall and about 30mm ish outside width to match what I’ve broken. It needs a brake track as I have a back brake that works - the front brake is just to make it road legal and is pathetic at actually braking.
Any ideas / something in stock? I’ll worry about spokes after - I’ll probably just get straight gauge 2mm ones if that’s suitable.
