I want to take the weight off my back from my commuter - a mudguarded and utilitarian Genesis Croix de Fer (700c wheels, has rack mounts, has full length mudguards fitted).

Can anyone shed any light on what racks might or might not fit?

Topeak Super Tourist DX is almost certain to fit as it's a disk-specific model.

You may get away with a Blackburn EX2 by using a small spacer (in the case of my Sutra, 3 thin washers) between the lower rack and the dropout.

I had a look in the EBC in toon as I was going past - they had a choice of

Tortec Apex Disc

or a Seatpost mount type

Although For price/weight I might try the Axiom Odyssee Disc

even though it won't make use of the lower rack mounts

I have put conventional racks on disc braked bikes by using spacers. Not an issue. I wouldn't use the Axiom Odyssee Disc as it has both a sliding mount and clamps rather than bolt on - not as rigid as a proper rack

We've fitted quite a few of the Topeak racks recently, very good, and also gets you into their range of slide'n'lock fitting bags. Definitely worth considering.
